La República Dominicana

My Aunt and Uncle live in the Dominican Republic and they were nice enough to let us come and see them. Here are some of the things that we did when we were there....

~The Caribbean Sea~

Can you see us snorkeling?

Kent would of been in the picture but he was taking it. Funny thing, while we were there a wave kicked up and got Nancy and I.

~The Colonial Zone~
The DR was one of the first islands that was discovered by Christopher Columbus. In Santo Domingo they have a whole section of town called the Colonial Zone that has many of the old building from those times.

An old time fort.

The oldest cathedral in the western hemisphere build in the early 1500's

See the pretty stain glass.

Under here  the bones of Columbus were buried for many years. Then on the 500 anniversary of his discovery of the new world he was moved across town.
Columbus' son Diego was Governor and lived in this beautiful palace.

~The Temple and MTC~
Kent and Nancy live right next to the temple and MTC. This is from their pool area.

~The Mountains~
Kent and Nancy have some friends, Juan and Victoria, who were nice enough to let us stay at their cabin in the mountains. It was so beautiful up there.

When we were driving around we saw this huge home being built that they were calling a castle.

The guest house that was near the castle.
Thanks Kent and Nancy for letting us come to the DR!!
